FAQ
I am Jewish with a strong background on Jewish culture and issues. Am I still eligible?
Yes, the program will go into great depth on contemporary Jewish topics, introduce fellows to a wide range of experts and sources, and help create lasting peer and mentor networks.
Who oversees the fellowship project?
If you are a full-time journalist or a freelancer, your assignment editor will approve your project. If you are a freelancer writing on spec, your mentor will give feedback on your project. The leadership of the fellowship does not approve, vet, edit or otherwise control the output of the fellows.
Do I have to attend every retreat?
Yes, the retreats are the fellowship. In-person participation at all three is mandatory for the completion of the fellowship. Fellows must also take part in three, brief on-line orientation sessions prior to each retreat.
How can I help the fellowship reach more journalists?
You can donate to the nonprofit, nonpartisan Karsh Journalism Fellowship.
Is the fellowship open to journalists living anywhere in the United States?
Yes. The fellowship covers travel expenses.
I have more questions. Whom do I ask?
Please contact Rob Eshman at Rob@KarshFellowship.org.
